Types of Aisles
Lift trucks are classified due to the types of aisles they have been designed to work in. Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are designed to turn in the aisle, whilst Very Narrow Aisle trucks really don't turn within the aisle. There are several aisle widths to consider with different models.
VNA or Very Narrow Aisle trucks operate in less than 6 feet areas and normally utilize certain guidance systems like wire, optical or rail systems in order to travel within the aisles. Some different models of VNA trucks consist of Turret Trucks, Swing Masts and Order Selectors. These are common kinds in compact retail areas and in some storage and warehouse situations.
Narrow Aisle or NA trucks can work in aisles that are 8 feet to 10 feet. Normally these are stand-up units such as Reach Trucks. They are commonly utilized within warehouses and storage facilities.
The wide aisle forklift is designed to work within aisles more than 8 feet to 10 feet.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard that is made to lessen operator exhaustion by absorbing vibration. The compartment for the operator is really large and has an 8" low step height that helps lessen overall body fatigue by easing frequent entry and exit. The model consists of polyurethane steer tires to absorb vibration and shocks caused by uneven floor in order to enable smooth traveling. For additional comfort, there is a cushioned armrest and floor mat as well as a backrest designed to help keep drivers comfortable and thus more productive while limiting exhaustion.
