Telescoping Boom Lifts
Telescopic booms are large industrial equipment designed with a straight boom arm that is extendable. The boom is usually situated on a rotating turntable. The telescoping boom lifts are typically utilized for jobs that need tasks to be done at heights which exceed other kinds of lifts. Like for example, workers can carry out exterior renovations or repairs on buildings of medium height but using these lifts rather than having the additional work of setting up a pulley system or an outside elevator.
The boom lift is only designed to hold one individual. These buckets are more suited to specific tasks like for example electrical repair, rather than window washing or general maintenance. These lifts are available in electric and gas configurations and are offered with both indoor and outdoor tires.
Scissor Lifts
Below the scissor lifts work platform are the cross braces in which the machine gets its name. Once the braces move together it pushes the platform straight up. As these machines must be positioned directly below the work site, these units are way more limited in their use as opposed to boom lifts.
The scissor lift typically has a larger platform that enables the operator to control the lift to access a larger work area once the lift platform is raised off the ground. With scissor lifts, all-terrain capability is less of an issue with these types of machinery, since they must sit on flat ground in order to be used. Scissor lifts are great for being utilized for cladding or window installation, because they provide the workers with the desired mobility; they are also a great choice for exterior repairs or window cleaning applications.
Boom Trucks vs. Cranes
The boom truck or cherry picker refers to the utility vehicle usually used to lift workers for different jobs done at heights. Generally, these kinds of trucks have a cab. It is here where the operator sits and operates the equipment. There is a bucket for where the worker could stand along with a winch for carrying and an actuator arm for raising the boom.
Cherry pickers could lift workers up to heights that were previously inaccessible. The cranes function is to lift both heavy supplies and equipment for one place to another. There are a variety of different crane types which can perform a variety of purposes. Both of these different kinds of equipment excel at various jobs and are suitable for specific applications and accomplishing certain tasks.
