Narrow Aisle Forklift
A narrow aisle forklift is used for lowering and lifting loaded pallets from high storage spaces. This kind is suitable for work places with narrow spaces between aisles, like warehouses or retail environments. The forklift has small, solid rubber tires that make maneuvering simple.
Generally, the operator of this specific type of forklift stands up in a small cockpit. The stand-up design allows the narrow aisle forklift to be as short and narrow as possible. A stand-up cockpit forklift normally has three tires: two in the front, and one in the back. This design allows for fast and easy maneuvering. There are some versions of these forklifts that come with a sit-down cockpit. The lift attachment is capable of pivoting to the sides, permitting the lift to be operated without the operator having to reposition the entire machine. The sit-down version normally has four wheels.
Many narrow aisle forklifts are powered with an electric engine. Electric-powered equipment are quiet and do not produce exhaust fumes, making them the preferred choice for closed areas like retail spaces. Some lifts come with a gas engine or a diesel engine. However, the diesel model is not suggested for indoor application as it can produce exhaust and be quite noisy.
