Telescopic forklifts
Telescopic forklift models are outfitted with a pronged lift on an arm which extends over the top of the truck providing great height and versatility. The crane, or arm, is known as a telescopic boom. The boom allows the operator to maintain a high degree of control while lifting the load to great heights. Standard lift trucks aren't able to move the cargo towards and away from the cab of the forklift, while a telescopic forklift allows that movement. The telescopic forklift is normally used in both construction and agriculture. It is recommended for applications where greater control and lift is required.
In situations requiring high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments called forklift carton clamp attachments are better. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings which enable the operator to utilize uniform clamping force when picking up a load. It is available with a backrest which protects the loads from damage.
A sleep sheet lift truck would usually utilize a slip sheet attachment for storing systems which don't use pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forklift forks. This kind of system is handy for overseas shipments and intra-corporate deliveries.
A lift platform that is meant to raise workers is called a Man Basket. It attaches to the forklift forks and a chain or strap is used to attach the basket to the lift truck carriage. The platform has railings to protect the workers from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are used for fastening the safety harness of the worker.
