Hazards of Type-G forklifts
Forklifts carry out an essential part in the operations of warehouses and other businesses. These machinery are capable of raising and moving immense loads from one place to another. There are many variations on the forklift. The main variation is the way in which different kinds of forklifts are fueled. "LP" lift trucks are the type that is most popular. They utilize liquid propane. Type "E" lift trucks have large rechargeable batteries and operate on electricity. Type "D" forklifts use diesel and type "G" run on gasoline. Though all lift trucks, like any piece of heavy machinery, can pose a hazard, gasoline powered forklifts pose the most risks.

Fire
Forklifts labelled type G could present a fire hazard. Gas lift trucks are not made with the same rigorous standards. Gas leaks are the biggest cause of fire due mainly to gas leaks and also escaped gas fumes. This could result driving on really rough terrain and from normal wear or from accidents. These circumstances pose a risk and could lead to fire. Hence, a typical Type G forklift must never be used in conditions where elevated fire risk is deemed not acceptable. For instance, these units must not be used around explosives or dangerous chemicals.

Explosion
Gas lift trucks also pose a risk of explosion, as do diesel and liquid propane based forklifts. A gasoline powered forklift can explode as a result of a serious mishap in circumstances where an ignition source and a gasoline leak are present. An explosion can occur when sparks are created in the collision and the sparks ignite the gasoline.

Fumes and Exhaust
Due to bad fumes, the gas lift truck does pose a risk for inhalation, that can be deadly in higher concentrations. Fumes could result from the exhaust itself or from gasoline leaks. Therefore, a Type G lift truck is really not recommended for any environment that is poorly ventilated. The exhaust will present a serious danger in enclosed places. This type of lift truck should be utilized carefully when operated in close proximity to people.
